Before Super Sara left for Utah and then on to be with her new husband in Canada, she, Pujay and Deejay invited us to join them for a wonderful day in the countryside. It was a perfect day. The weather was just starting to warm up and we were excited to get out of the smoke and smog of the Capital City--UB.
As we drove out into the country, the air was clean and the sky was blue. We laughed and chatted as we drove down the road. Even though we have only known Super Sara since our arrival in Mongolia, we feel like we have been life-long friends. We had a wonderful time. Far out in the countryside we visited Pujay's mother and brother's home. We climbed up on the hillside which overlooks their home and barnyard. We were surprised to see he still had a little hay in his barnyard. He explained that it had been a long, cold winter for him and his animals, but they had gotten along quite well, especially compared to Dzud disaster aimags. Many of his animals were expecting and he was ever vigilant incase any of them may need assistance.
We dined on botz soup and hot water-milk. We chuckled at watching three newborn kid goats mosey around the kitchen where they had been placed to keep them warm. We laughed together as we petted Pujay's mother's favorite cow. We had a wonderful time. It was the perfect break from our hectic schedules and the country air refreshed our bodies and our spirits.
